System of a Down (or SOAD) is an American rock & new metal band created in 1994.

The band is composed of Serj Tankian (the singer), Daron Malakian (the other singer and guitar player), Shavo Odadjian (the bass player) and John Dolmayan (the drummer). They all have armenian origins. The band's original name was Soil, and there was an another drummer (Andy Khachaturian). When he left the band, Shavo Odajian replaced him.

System of a Down have released five albums: System of a Down, Toxicity, Steal This Album, and Mezmerize /  Hypnotize. The band is in a break now, but I heard they want to make a new album.

The song Hypnotize was released in October 2005 on the album with the same name. It is about the society in which we live, and how it manipulates and hypnotizes us with all the media, advertisement and TV channels: "Television made you buy it".

The music video was made at the Van Andel Arena during one of their concerts.

I find this song quite calm and I really like the style of System of a Down in general.
